Tour the Twine

The largest ball of twine is located in Cawker City, Kansas.  Frank Stoeber is the man who created the ball of twine, starting his project in 1953.  In 4 short years, after the ball was created, it weighed 5,000 pounds and was 8 feet tall.  As of today, the huge ball weighs a whopping 19,873 pounds.
If you want to be apart of the "World's Largest Things" every August Cawker City holds a Twine-A-Thon, where those attending add more twine to large ball, nevertheless, making it more giant than it already is.
Cawker City, Kansas is a town to stop in, especially to see the "Largest Ball of Twine."
The slideshow below are pictures capturing the giant ball and tourists visiting!

  1. I have actually been to Cawker City and saw the Largest Ball of Twine! I personally wasn't very intrigued by the twine considering it just looked like a hay bail and I only needed to look at it for 2 minutes before deciding to leave.

  4. Cawker City is pretty close to my hometown and we always drove past it on the way to volleyball/football games! Pretty neat.
